Timber grooved acoustic panel for ceilings & walls 

The grooved timber acoustic panel range provides high performance , sound absorbing surfaces with extensive finish options including real wood veneer , HPL laminate woodgrain and HPL solid colours . 

The distance between the grooves changes for different models , with smaller spacings gererally increasing acoustic performance .

We provide extensive design and acoustic support , so the panels can be well integrated into the space with all ancillary items matched the provide continuity .

Drawings and samples will be provided by request according to the project .

How grooved acoustic panel absorb sound ?

As well as the grooves in the face , cut-outs to the rear or the centre meet in grooves , creating perforations .

These perforations , combined with a cavity behind the panel create resonance , due to the air in the cavity which acts like string .

In combination with damping , typically provided by a layer of mineral fibre in the cavity , to reduce sound energy.

This is known as a Helmholtz absorber.

Changing the perforation pattern (in this case by selecting the width between the slits) alters the acoustic performance .

Differences in the cavity depth and absorbent material in the void also have consequences.
